Fanuc 0M parameter key-in
Can someone explain the procedure for manually keying-in the parameters on a Fanuc 0M control?
I know little to nothing about these controls.
The machine has lost everything, and I have a list, including the tool change macro, but no file to dump w/ RS232.

Bit long and tedious, you need to set the PWE bit to 1, and be in MDI.
Hopefully you also have the 900 parameters?
I have a pdf for loading and saving using RS232 if you need it.

Put the 900's in first. The PMC params are in the diagnostics pages.

Parameter page should come up. Several lines down will be displayed 'PWE = 0' Scroll cursor to this line and type 1 and input. Alarm will come on, don't worry about it.
Keep scrolling down and enter parameters.
When finished, go back and change PWE to 0. If all the parameters are right, you should be good to go.

Would I be able to create a file to send to the machine?Originally Posted by minderI have a pdf for loading and saving using RS232 if you need it.Minder.
Like in Word or notepad? (type in all the par. in the file on the PC, then send?)
I have comm function with my Onecnc software, but I would need the comm parameters and cable pinouts.
Sounds like your PDF has that info in it??
Can you send it to me?

thanks!

No more params as you have on an 0, I bet you'd have'm keyed in by the time to figgered out the other...
I think the 232 will be used for saving them once your done for the next time.

sometimes ya can change option params only by repunching... seems odd but worked for me on a 0-td. Could not set a paid for option until I punched em out and back in.

You can type the parameters in as a file, I will look up the format and send it with the pdf.Originally Posted by dkmcWould I be able to create a file to send to the machine?

I have always used the 3 wire cable with the hardware handshake jumpered out for the RS232 as Fanuc use the XON/XOFF for transmission control.

Posting the parameters in via 232 is easy
type in the 900 series parameters by hand, then set parameter 02, 10 and 551( I think) baud rate anyways
Then goto edit mode, press the parameter/dgnos key and press input... then start your download

You may hafta have the machine 'UP'?
Possibly a slim chance that the edit lock key may need turned? But if were able to change the PWE - it would seem that you could editt he params. ???

Emergency button depressed/locked.
Drives off.
I don't think I -have- that key!
PWE is the -only- one I CAN change......
Someone told me of another parameter....can't remember.....got a call/message to him right now.
Maybe like P14 bit 1.....???? - Cast Iron

Dan, It's been a while since I needed to go into them, but I don't know of anything else that is needed or another parameter turned on. The key that OX is talking about is an actual key, like on a desk drawer. On my 0M-A, I don't need the edit key turned on. If you can turn the PWE to 1, it should work.
Machine on, PWE=1, E-Stop, and you should be able to edit.
And P14 has to do with tool codes in my manual, 0M model A.

I just tried to call you, but you were already yakkin'.
I just tried my 0T-a and I can edit mine in e-stop and with the key off.
You hafta have a prog protect key - and if you don't - your switch had better be OFF. ???
PWE page - set to 1
page down
scroll down to whatever line your lookin' fer
enter new line info (complete)
hit INPUT
The newer models are a little nicer - as you can jist highlight the one param that your wanting rather than hafta key in the whole line and possibly mess something up and not even know what you changed...
